All about Jeannette

Hello! I am from Galesburg, Illinois in the United States of America. I live in Illinois, but not in Chicago; I live in a rural area where farming and the railroad are the biggest industries. I have lived in Illinois most of my life, but I have also spent a year and a half in Honolulu, Hawaii between 1990 and 1991. Besides Honolulu, my favorite places in the world are Las Vegas and New York City. My biggest passion is volunteer work. There are many weeks where I volunteer more hours than I work for pay. I have previously volunteered for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, BSA (Boy Scouts of America), CASA, and the alternative high school in my town. I currently volunteer for the NAACP. PFLAG, United Against Hate, United Way, and the GSA group at the local high school. I will always work for dogs and kids in hard places. My favorite thing in this world is dogs. I have had up to seven at once. To me, there is NOTHING better than dogs. I also like rainbows, tie-dyes, peace signs, Snoopy (and the Peanuts characters), Winnie the Pooh, and ANYTHING that has to do with Las Vegas, New York, or Hawaii. I love to read and watch movies and old TV shows. The Brady Bunch is the best TV show ever. I love Thai food but I cannot get that where I live. My favorite band ever is the Grateful Dead, but I also love the Eagles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and the Beatles. I am a hippie who was born 20 years too late. I have been snail-mailing since I could write and I am looking forward to receiving postcards from absolutely everywhere! Thank you for writing to me.
